William Seaby's father was
Joseph Sebey, son of Joshua and Sarah
Sabey. Joseph's parents were married in 1793 in Dry Drayton. Joshua had been married before to an Elizabeth
Hart over ten years earlier, in 1782. Elizabeth was herself a widow at the time of their marriage and I only seem to have found one child so far of that marriage: Ann
Sabey, christened in Dry Drayton in 1784. Elizabeth was buried in Dry Drayton in 1792, a year before Joshua's second marriage.
Joshua's second wife was Sarah
Bunten or
Buntey, a spinster at the time of their marriage. I haven't yet found a christening record for her. Apart from Joseph, David's transcript from the Dry Drayton parish registers show that Joshua and Sarah had six other children, the first two of whom died in infancy.
The IGI has a christening record for a Joshua
Saby on 22 February 1761 in Longstowe, Cambridgeshire, son of Seymour and Sarah
Saby. This seems a little too tenuous, although I haven't yet found any other Joshuas online.
So I've hit another bit of a blockage, but it's been interesting moving back a couple more steps!
