Lavinia
Brown nee
Seaby was the widow of Charles
Brown, and one of my great-grandparents. She was born in 1861 in Dry Drayton, Cambridgeshire and, according to family, died around 1941 when she would have been 80. Searching 1837Online from January 1941, I found two possible entries:
Lavinia 89 Ashby Z 7a 292 Jan-Mar 1941
Lavinia 79 Chelmsford 4a 569 Jul-Sep 1942
Neither seems especially promising, although some of the family (my mother included) were living in Essex in the 1940s, so I think I may try the Essex option first, particularly as the age is closest.
(UPDATE: August 2006. A family bible has come to light with hand-written entries of vital events, including Lavinia's death in 1944, so I can now look for the death certificate).
