This Weblog is generating some very useful contacts. Just recently I've been in correspondence with a 2nd cousin on my paternal grandmother's side, who has filled in some detail about the children of my great-aunt, Rosa EPHGRAVE, who married a Mr LOCK. It's interesting to know that there are other descendants of the STOCKINGs, EPHGRAVEs and related branches of the family in London, and to hear of shared family stories (and nicknames) and see the same photos emerging from two branches of a family that have lost touch. We're gradually filling in some gaps, and I still hope someone somewhere will have a photo of my great-grandfather Frederick EPHGRAVE. Frederick was born in 1872 and died in 1923. Born illegitimately as Frederick Hipgrave SCRIVENER, his mother Harriet later married Jesse EPHGRAVE, who I assume was his father (Hipgrave=Ephgrave?). I have photos of all my other great-grandparents, so it would be lovely to find a photo of Frederick too. My 2nd cousin now thinks he has found a photo via an uncle - I'm not sure we'll ever know for certain, but it certainly could be!
