A bumper batch of certificates arrived from the GRO yesterday, but not too many of them seem to 'fit' other parts of the puzzles. One such is that of the death of Samuel Head, father of Anne and husband of Matilda.
Matilda married a second time before 1860; a death in 1851 in Biggleswade looked like it might be Samuel ... and indeed it was a Samuel Head, but one aged 23 when he died of Phthisis. The informant was Edith Holmes, a name not known in the family records so far. So this Samuel is too young, and further searching is needed to 'kill him off'!
