Kilbys of Gustard's Wood, Hertfordshire

Elizabeth Kilby married Thomas Ephgrave in 1812 in Wheathamsted. Born in 1780, she was the daughter of John Kilby and Ann nee Gregory, both of Wheathamsted. Elizabeth had at least one sister, Mary, born in 1778. Thomas was a farmer at Gustard's Wood, and was father of my 3x great-grandfather. I'm lucky enough to have copies of Thomas' and Elizabeth's wills proved in 1854 and 1855 which mention the farm and four cottages with their tenants.



The Wheathamsted site has a copy of an agreement between William Willshire and Richard Kilby (Carpenter) for a house in Gustard's Wood in 1821. Could Richard Kilby be a relative of Elizabeth's? A nephew perhaps?
